Having monitored the situation around COVID-19 constantly over these last few weeks, taking on board the feedback from the MCM community and this week’s advice from the UK Government regarding social distancing and avoiding crowds, we have taken the difficult decision to postpone MCM Comic Con London. The show is now scheduled to run from 10-12th July 2020 at the ExCeL, London.
The smash hit fantasy series sees Matthew Mercer lead a group of friends and fellow voice actors on epic Dungeons & Dragons roleplaying adventures. Critical Role’s first campaign followed the escapades of Vox Machina as they quested across the peril-packed continent of Tal'dorei, while their current campaign takes place 20 years later on the continent of Wildemount and stars a brand new party – the Mighty Nein.
Critical Role stars Matthew Mercer, Laura Bailey, Liam O’Brien, Ashley Johnson, Travis Willingham, Sam Riegel, Marisha Ray and Taliesin Jaffe will all be attending the show on Saturday 30 May and Sunday 31 May, along with Talks Machina host Brian W. Foster.
Matthew Mercer, whose voice acting roles include Levi in Attack on Titan, McCree in Overwatch and Kiritsugu Emiya in the Fate franchise, is Critical Role’s popular Dungeon Master; creating the story, overseeing combat and bringing the NPCs to life.
Laura Bailey (Persona 4, Spider-Man) plays Jester Lavorre, a bouncy, mischievous tiefling cleric with a sweet tooth (her spiritual weapon is a giant lollipop!). Laura’s Vox Machina character is Vex'ahlia, a half-elf ranger accompanied by an adorable bear named Trinket.
Liam O’Brien (Naruto, Bleach) plays Caleb Widogast, a vagabond human wizard sporting a thick German accent, a photographic memory and poor personal hygiene – a big change from Liam’s Vox Machina character, dagger-wielding half-elf rogue Vax'ildan.
Acclaimed for her BAFTA-winning performance as Ellie in The Last of Us, Ashley Johnson’s current Critical Role character is Yasha Nydoorin, a statuesque aasimar barbarian with a penchant for giant swords. She previously played as lovable gnome cleric Pike Trickfoot.
Travis Willingham (One Piece, Fullmetal Alchemist) adventures with the Mighty Nein as half-orc warlock Fjord, a former sailor with a Southern drawl and a badass magic blade. His character in Vox Machina is Grog Strongjaw, a goliath barbarian who likes to RAGE.
Currently getting into scrapes as lovably kleptomaniac goblin Nott the Brave, Sam Riegel (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Ace Attorney) played charismatic gnome bard Scanlan Shorthalt and pompous aspiring author Tary Darrington in Critical Role’s first campaign.
Marisha Ray (Far Cry 5, Final Fantasy XV) plays surly, cynical and totally badass human monk Beauregard in the adventures of the Mighty Nein. Meanwhile, her time questing as part of Vox Machina saw Marisha voice earnest, introverted half-elf druid Keyleth.
Having played gunslinger Percival Fredrickstein Von Musel Klossowski de Rolo III – ‘Percy’ to friends – and flamboyant tiefling blood hunter Mollymauk Tealeaf, Taliesin Jaffe (Street Fighter, Hellsing) currently stars as kind-hearted firbolg cleric Caduceus Clay.
Californian-born writer and singer Brian W. Foster is the host of Talks Machina, Critical Role's live Twitch TV follow-up show discussing and dissecting the party’s most recent exploits, complete with cast appearances, audience questions and fan creations.
